Beyondthe Surface

I blend traditional muralism with XR technology to create hidden digital layers that come alive through your phone.

The Vision

A 3D walkthrough of the proposal site. I model the building and environmental lighting to give the client a photorealistic preview of how the mural transforms the space.

Physical Execution

From digital sketches to large-scale mural production. This phase captures the translation of virtual concepts into physical paint, texture, and community impact.

03

Digital Layering

Bridging the surface. I build isolated 3D assets that exist 'behind' the wall, ready to be activated by the viewer's device.

Mixed Reality

The final layer. Using WebAR, the mural comes alive with spatial animations, depth, and interactive digital graffiti that responds to the environment.

The Artist Behind the Work

Shaping
Atmosphere.

My practice as a mural artist in Saskatoon revolves around how visuals shape understanding and atmosphere. Murals taught me how color and scale can shift the energy of a community, and that thinking carries directly into my 3D and XR work at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Whether it's a hundred-foot wall in a busy downtown or a custom VR simulation for a classroom, the goal is always the same: clarity, intention, and a visceral sense of place.

I specialize in what I call Environmental Activations—projects that live beyond the surface. By layering digital utility like WebAR onto physical landmarks, I create spaces that aren't just seen, but experienced. I like work that lets me blend story, environment, and design in a way that feels honest, durable, and deeply rooted in the local landscape of Western Canada.

Philosophical Foundation

I approach every project with curiosity and openness. I listen first, sketch early, and adjust as the work takes shape. My process is highly technical but remains led by human emotion. I believe that public art should be a conversation between the artist, the viewer, and the physical substrate of the city itself.

Strategic Collaboration

I'm always interested in good conversations and meaningful collaborations. With 20+ years in the industry, I care about the people behind the work as much as the work itself. Whether you're a local business looking for a landmark mural or an institution needing interactive XR training, I'm here to build something functional and unforgettable.
