The Challenge
Create a cultural statement in downtown Saskatoon that celebrates Saskatchewan's floral emblem while bridging the gap between the prairie's natural beauty and contemporary urban art—making it more than just public art, but a landmark that resonates with both locals and visitors.
The Solution
Utilizing a spectrum of seventy spray paint colors, the mural achieves a mesmerizing effect reminiscent of stained glass, each segment boldly defined yet harmoniously blended. Set against geometric abstractions and fluid strokes, the lilies appear almost lit from within, their fiery petals dancing in an imaginary breeze. This intertwining of the prairie's enchanting natural beauty with avant-garde artistic techniques bridges the past and present, the traditional and the transformative.
